Fruit vegetables

Fruit vegetables derive from a limited number of families. The squash, zucchini, gherkin, cucumber and watermelon are all part of the curcubitaceae family. In addition, there is the nightshade family (Solanaceae). The tomato, pepper and eggplant are part of this family. Finally, sweetcorn derives from the grass family. These crops are mostly, and preferably, grown in greenhouses or foil tunnels. Don’t have either of those at your disposal? Then growing squash, zucchini, gherkin, cucumber or sweetcorn works best. These crops prefer rich, organic manure, sun, and moist soil.
