Squash

All De Bolster squash varieties are developed for organic cultivation. Our trailing winter squash types are remarkably uniform in size and shelf life. This plant type covers the cultivation area quickly, which suppresses weeds. Our bush types are particularly productive and allow for longer mechanical weed control.


Pompoen Amoro F1 - Cucurbita maxima
Beautiful, bright orange winter squash with an exceptionally high yield. Bush type with short vine. Suitable for early sales. ‘Amoro’ is very easy to cook and has a sweet taste, perfect for soup.

Orange winter squash with beautiful, large fruits. Bush type with short vine and 1-2 fruits per plant. Very high yielding and good shelf life. ‘Tractor’ is easy to cook and has a good, mild taste.

Pompoen Alligator F1
Alligator is a green pumpkin with an excellent shelf life and a high yield. The plants are very compact and are so-called bush types with a short rank. The smooth round fruits have relatively much flesh and an attractive yellow orange colour. The taste is good.

Pompoen Gele Centenaar
Winter Squash variety Yellow Centenaar produces very big yellow fruits, between 15 and 30 kilograms. Whilst not the ideal size for soup, also the pumpkin has a quite faint taste. The fruits can be used mainly for preserves, like chutney or jam. Beside preserves, the pumpkins can be used for decoration.

Pompoen Groene Hokkaido
Winter Squash variety Green Hokkaido has green fruits with yellow-orange pulp. The majority of the fruits weighs between 1.0 and 1.5 kg and have a diameter of circa 15 centimetres. The green fruits taste at least as good as the orange varieties, but are a little less long storable.

Pompoen Zapallito
Zapallito has green fruits with a diameter of 10-12 centimetres. The fruits should be harvested and consumed in a young, unripe state. Zapallito does not grow any vines and can be seen as a summer squash type.

Muskaatpompoen Muscat de Provence
Muscat de Provence has medium sized, flat round fruits with deep ribs. The skin is green at first, after ripening the fruits colour to (light) orange. The pulp is beautifully orange and can be used in soups or pastries.

Flespompoen Butternut
This Butternut is a traditional variety and a vining type. The fruits are crème-coloured. The fruits have a small cavity for seeds, mild flavour, and are moderately storable.

Acorn-pompoen Green Tangerine F1 NEW
Attractive, dark green fruits with deep tangerine coloured flesh with a pleasant, sweet taste. The nicely shaped fruits (600-800 g) are 11-14 cm in diameter with a small interior seed cavity.
