Fennel ‘Solaris F1’

Fennel ‘Solaris F1’ is suitable for spring, summer and autumn cultivation, making it a real all-rounder. The variety is not prone to dryness or woodiness. It is a fast grower, producing round bulbs with a juicy texture and a subtle aniseed flavour for an early harvest. This variety is ideal for growing baby fennel with lovely feathered foliage. Also suitable for cultivation in the greenhouse.

It is not recommended to sow fennel seed directly in a seed bed. Transplanting from a seed bed can halt growth, resulting in early flower formation. NB: The plants are prone to bolting in the summer. After harvesting, the bulbs can be kept in the refrigerator for a few days. To prevent them from drying out, the temperature should be relatively low, preferably just above freezing, with high relative humidity.
