This variety produces a good harvest even in cooler weather. One packet is sufficient for approximately 6 m², and the recommended plant spacing is 75×75 cm.

Pumpkin ‘Pink Banana Jumbo’ is a robust, vigorous vining variety, notable for its elongated, cream-to-salmon colored fruits. Under favorable conditions, the pumpkins can grow up to 100 cm long and weigh 5–15 kg. Even in cooler, wetter summers, this variety delivers a reliable harvest.

The fruits are ready to harvest when the stem becomes wrinkled and develops grooves or dry cracks. Cut the stem, leaving about 2 cm attached to the fruit.

Tip: After transplanting, watch for slug damage. Harvest fruits before the first frost.

The flesh of ‘Pink Banana Jumbo’ is a beautiful orange-yellow color, fairly dry in texture, and has a pleasantly sweet, refined flavor. These qualities make it highly suitable for a wide range of culinary uses, such as soups and gratins. Thanks to its firm texture and mild taste, it also performs well in casseroles, savory pies and sweet dishes. Any cooked flesh left over can be easily frozen in cubes. When left uncut, this pumpkin can be stored for up to two months in a cool, dry, frost-free place.
