Instructions for use

Fill the sprouting dish with tap water. The water should just touch the mesh tray. Spread the seeds thinly over the tray and, if needed, gently moisten them with a plant spray. Place the sprouting dish in a bright spot, but not in direct sunlight.

Check the water level daily and top it up as needed to reach the tray. It’s important that the seeds don’t dry out before they develop sprouting roots. Change the water if it becomes cloudy. The easiest time to do this is when the seeds have small roots and are already anchored to the tray.

Rotate the sprouting dish regularly to ensure the sprouts grow upright. The sprouts can be harvested after 5 days to 3 weeks. The growing time depends on the type of sprout, but also on your personal taste. Experiment to find out at which stage the sprouts taste best to you.

Rinse the sprouts under running water before using them. Some sprouts can be eaten raw, but the safest option is to heat them first. You can do this by dipping them in boiling water for 5 seconds or stir-frying them thoroughly with your meal (source: Nutrition Centre). After harvesting, clean the sprouting dish thoroughly with detergent or in the dishwasher. Make sure the dish is completely clean before starting a new batch.
