Winter Squash 'Amoro F1'

This new Bolster variety has a very high yield and is early. The heart shaped fruits are very smooth and have a beautiful bright orange colour. One can sow at a very high density due to the compact bush-shape, and our advice is to use a density of 15 to 20 thousand plants/ha. At this density, our experience thus far is a yield of 2 to 3 fruits per plant. The weight of the fruits is very stable and is between 0,8 to 1,3 kg. Amoro has given yields of 30 to 40 tons per ha.

The fruits have a high percentage of beautiful orange flesh and the taste is good. A big advantage is that Amoro is easy to cut and to take out the seeds. Amoro can be stored well for 3-4 months without severe decay, although longer storage might be risky. We strongly recommend to sow this variety when temperatures are above 18°C (64,4 °F) with enough sunshine, also during subsequent days. Sunshine is important as it quickly increases soil temperature, and pumpkin seeds love temperatures of 22°C and higher.
